Passly DEV BUILD Privacy Policy

Passly DEV BUILD Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 4, 2026

Passly DEV BUILD is a development build of the Passly browser extension for trusted testers and internal validation. It is designed to connect to a self-hosted Passly or Passbolt-compatible server chosen by the user or their organization.

Data handled by the extension

The extension may handle the following data only to provide password-manager functionality:

  • Identity information such as account name, username, and email address returned by the selected Passly server.
  • Authentication information such as passwords, credentials, private keys, recovery/setup data, session-related tokens, and passphrases entered by the user.
  • Website content needed for password-manager workflows, such as the current page URL, login forms, and fields used to search, suggest, copy, or fill credentials.
  • Local settings needed for extension operation, such as server URL, account configuration, preferences, and cached encrypted vault metadata.

How data is used

Data is used only for the single purpose of letting testers connect to their selected Passly server, access their vault, search credentials, copy credentials, fill login forms, generate passwords, and validate development-build behavior.

The extension does not sell user data. The extension does not transfer user data to third parties for advertising, credit-worthiness, profiling, or unrelated purposes. Data is sent only to the Passly server selected by the user or organization, or stored locally in the browser as needed for extension functionality.

Remote services

The extension does not use remotely hosted JavaScript or WebAssembly code. Network requests are made to the user-selected Passly server and to web pages involved in extension workflows where required by the browser extension permissions.
