Sheherd Privacy Policy

Sheherd helps users share safety status, location, emergency alerts, trusted circles, check-ins, and companion sessions with people they choose.

Information We Collect

We collect account details such as name, email address, phone number, profile photo, emergency contacts, circle membership, device push tokens, app settings, check-ins, emergency events, location updates when enabled, and safety reports users create.

How We Use Information

We use this information to provide authentication, onboarding, trusted circle features, emergency alerts, push notifications, location sharing, shadow companion sessions, safety map features, account support, abuse prevention, diagnostics, and security.

Sharing

Sheherd does not sell personal data. Data is shared only with trusted contacts or circles selected by the user, with service providers needed to run the app, or when required for safety, legal, or security reasons.

Retention and Deletion

Users can export data and request deletion in the app privacy settings. Users may also request account and data deletion by emailing support@sheherd.com from the account email address.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and protected with Supabase authentication, row-level security, and platform security controls. No system can guarantee perfect security, but we use reasonable safeguards to protect user data.

Sheherd Terms of Service

By using Sheherd, you agree to use the app responsibly and only for lawful safety, communication, and trusted-circle coordination purposes.

Emergency Disclaimer

Sheherd is not a replacement for emergency services. In an emergency, call local emergency services. App notifications, location, cellular service, GPS, and third-party services may be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for keeping account credentials secure, inviting only appropriate trusted contacts, keeping emergency contact information accurate, and using safety features only when appropriate.

Acceptable Use

You may not use Sheherd to harass, stalk, threaten, impersonate, mislead, abuse emergency features, or violate another person's privacy or legal rights.

Availability

Sheherd may change, pause, or discontinue features. We work to keep the service reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
