This policy covers the iPhone, iPad, and Mac editions of Change Counter: Coin Scanner, FrankenCA, FrankenJazz, FrankenMarkdown, FrankenMermaid, FrankenOCR, FrankenPatents, FrankenRobots, FrankenSim, FrankenTTS, and FrankenWhisper. These apps are published by Jeffrey Emanuel.
The apps have no advertising, tracking, behavioral analytics, or developer-operated user accounts. Jeffrey Emanuel does not collect personal data from the apps.
Each app processes the content needed for the feature you choose:
- Change Counter processes camera frames and coin corrections to estimate and save a local coin count. Saved scans, coin finds, missions, and collection history remain on the device.
- FrankenCA processes simulation state, parameter changes, and gestures locally.
- FrankenJazz stores and plays lead sheets, settings, and imported or exported music documents locally.
- FrankenMarkdown and FrankenMermaid process document source, settings, previews, diagnostics, and exported files locally.
- FrankenOCR processes selected images, camera frames, and PDFs locally to produce recognized text.
- FrankenPatents stores its bundled catalog and reading state locally. It downloads an original patent PDF only when you explicitly request that file.
- FrankenRobots processes simulation state and controls locally. Its embedded interface is served from an ephemeral loopback address on the device and is not exposed to the internet.
- FrankenSim processes experiment parameters and numerical results locally.
- FrankenTTS processes entered or imported text and generated audio locally. If you clone a voice, the microphone recording is converted on the device into a compact voice vector and then discarded. Saved voice vectors remain in the app's private storage until you delete them.
- FrankenWhisper processes microphone recordings and imported audio or video locally to produce transcripts, speaker structure, captions, and exported media. The optional keyboard exchanges state with the containing app through a local App Group.
The apps do not upload your documents, images, camera frames, recordings, videos, transcripts, voice vectors, simulation state, music, or generated output.
Most features work without a network connection. Network access is limited to the following user-visible operations:
- FrankenOCR, FrankenTTS, and FrankenWhisper download static model files from the projects' release hosting. Model requests contain no user content. Files are verified before use and stored in app-private storage.
- FrankenPatents downloads an original patent PDF from its archival source only after you request it.
- The system App Store and StoreKit services may be used for the optional Change Counter Family Pass purchase and purchase restoration.
The hosting provider or Apple may receive routine connection information, such as an IP address and user agent, under its own privacy policy. Jeffrey Emanuel does not receive model-download, patent-download, or StoreKit account information from the apps.
Files leave an app only when you explicitly use an export, save, or system share action and choose a destination. The selected destination is governed by its own privacy policy.
Permissions are requested only for a feature that needs them:
- Camera access is used for coin counting, still-image OCR, or live-camera OCR.
- Microphone access is used for voice cloning, recording, transcription, or dictation.
- Photo Library and Files access use Apple's system pickers for items you select. Add-only Photos access may be requested when you choose to save generated media.
- Local network access is not used to communicate with other devices. FrankenRobots uses only an internal loopback address to load bundled app resources.
- FrankenWhisper's keyboard requests Full Access only to exchange audio and transcript state with the containing app through the local App Group. The keyboard extension has no network client.
You can deny or revoke a permission in system settings. Features that do not require that permission remain available.
App data remains in the app's local storage until you remove it through the app, delete the app, or erase the device. Exported files remain wherever you chose to save or share them. System backups may include local app data according to your device and backup settings; large downloaded model files are excluded from backup where supported.
Because the apps do not collect personal data, they do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Change Counter is designed for family use, and its saved collection remains local to the device.
Material changes will be published on this page with a new effective date. For privacy questions, email jeffrey.emanuel@gmail.com.
