AOT Configuration Variants
defining as a source of truth for future reference:
jitless --no-jit-backend
------------------------------------
no dynamic executable memory
aot-interp: --aot-interp --cache-ir-stubs=off
-----------------------------------------------------
use the aot baseline interpreter but without inline cache stubs
or aot-selfhosted code, even if the bootstrap contains it.
aot-interp-ics --aot-interp --enforce-aot-ics
--------------------------------------------------
use the aot baseline interpreter with AOT ic stubs exclusively,
if an AOT stub is not found then the fallback stub is used. this
flag used to cause an abort in PBL, but has been repurposed
temporarily.
aot-interp-sh = --aot-interp --aot-selfhosted --cache-ir-stubs=off
------------------------------------------------------------------------
use the aot blinterp with AOT compiled self-hosted builtins,
which functions depends on the bootstrapping procedure.
aot-interp-sh-ics = --aot-bl --enforce-aot-ics
-------------------------------------------------------------
follows straightforwardly from aot-interp-sh and aot-interp-ics,
the --aot-bl flag turns on both interp and self-hosted.
