Voice recordings: When you use the microphone feature, audio is recorded locally on your device and sent to a third-party transcription service (Avalon Voice API) for speech-to-text conversion. Audio files are stored temporarily on-device and are not retained after transcription.
Idea text: The text you type or that is transcribed from voice is sent to OpenAI's API for AI processing. This includes your input text and any previous revisions of the same idea, so the AI can refine its output.
No account required: Spark of Genius does not require sign-up, login, or any personal information to use.
All ideas and revisions are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. No user data is stored on our servers.
- OpenAI API — used to generate structured idea output. Subject to OpenAI's usage policies and privacy policy. When using the API, OpenAI does not use submitted data to train models.
- Avalon Voice API — used for speech-to-text transcription of voice recordings.
We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to any third parties beyond the services listed above, which are used solely to provide the app's core functionality.
All data is stored locally on your device. Deleting an idea removes it permanently. Uninstalling the app removes all stored data.
Spark of Genius is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
