The solution above is ok but however does not evaluate integers less than 3( i.e. 0,1,2). A simple alternative that works for all integers would like as follows:
def is_it_prime(n):
if n<2:
return (False)
elif n==2 or n==3:
return(True)
elif n%2!=0 and n%3!=0:
return (True)
else:
return (False)
