What's new
We've resolved product issues to improve the reliability and performance of the OneDrive sync app.

Open at Login: Updated the Open at Login setting to align to the System Settings > Login Items setting, which controls whether OneDrive is allowed to perform task in the background.

Trailing Spaces: OneDrive Sync now automatically trims trailing spaces in file and folder names to improve upload reliability.

Unsupported File and Folder Names: OneDrive for Mac now supports syncing files and folders with the special characters like <>\/|?*": in the name. On other non-Mac devices and in the browser, these characters will appear as HTML-encoded characters.

Improved experience when adding a Folder Shortcut: There is now a system notification that will notify the user that their folder shortcut has started to sync with the native file browser.

Improved experience when adding a Folder Shortcut to an already syncing folder: Users will be able to directly replace their existing syncing locations with the new Folder Shortcut.

Removed support for macOS 12. The minimum required version is now macOS 13.

Unlicensed OneDrive accounts: OneDrive Sync will now show a warning when a user does not have a license assigned. Accounts will initially be in read-only mode and then they will be archived. Learn more.

Syncing files to a non-home volume: OneDrive on macOS now supports selecting a non-home volume to store OneDrive content. Learn more.
