The days of quality apple products and support are long gone, if they ever did exist and weren't just a marketing illusion, and you if you need reliability go elsewhere. Post all the bugs and customer service issues you have run into.
Past and Current Generation Issues:
- iPhone 16e bluetooth audio stuttering
- upon return of the devices at 14 days of receipt, apple store employee acted as if he was doing us a favour, as he believes the 2 week return period is from the time the (pre)order is placed, and not when the customer receives the order - this is not the case under australia consumer law, and in any practical sense, especially for pre-orders
- If you get an AirPods Pro 2 replaced under AppleCare+ they will not transfer the AppleCare+ to the new unit, and instead will require over 5 calls over 5 hours to them days appart to try and resolve
- App Store Review developer responses will send a notification every few hours, requiring you to disable it
- iPhone output device fails to select speaker sometimes
- Apple Support chat has amnesia, and forgets everything that was sent to them prior
- Apple Support calls have elected amnesia, they would prefer to stall for their hourly wage, and will ask you for every detail again, rather than just reading their case notes - for instance, even if you have already spoken and sent attachments to the prior advisor, the next advisor will ask you everything again and refuse to actually look at the case notes, if there is a document like a repair agreement, they will have you state again every number on the repair agreement rather than looking at it themselves
- Using SharePlay on Apple TV with two AirPods Pro 2 causes the Apple TV to crash
- Migrate button does not show to consolidate two apple accounts, despite dozens of apple technicians saying it should show up, their suggestions locked my family out of purchase sharing for 90 days and still did not resolve the issue
- iCloud emails on macos can take a while to download and appear
Past Generation Issues, May Still Be Current:
- Disk Utility display corrupts and becomes unusable if more than 5 or more drives are connected at once
- iPhone 11 Pro has an overly complicated battery replacement process, where screen can get easily damaged - apple refuses to show accurate battery percentages on replaced batteries
- iCloud Drive would constantly take forever to download certain files, or to download videos from Photos, leading me to assume they were lost
- macOS cannot enable TouchID for purchases: https://youtu.be/yPyr7UBhPA4
- Apple Home when creating automations that are more than say ten steps long, will slow to a crawl and often crash
- Macbook tradeins is an awful experience: https://maps.app.goo.gl/p5LaRADshx7xcyKu7?g_st=ic
Past Generation Issues:
- Apple Macbook Pro 2017 15" would fry anything attached to one of its usb-c ports, destroying dozens of devices until I realised that it was the usb-c port that was causing it when it set a usb-c drive on fire. Apple refused to reimburse me for damaged devices.
- Talked with others with that model, all of us where on multiple replacements until we got one that would stop frying devices
- iMac 2011 has a faulty GPU, apple pretended the issue did not exist, was years after a class-action lawsuit until apple recalled them, however Australians did not get any recall or benefit
- MacOS Mojave would not select the correct terminal tab: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrA8ecH92ic
- MacOS Photos would select the wrong items, and crash: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FTorO4zcdw (keep private, has personal photos)
- iOS Safari when opening a page in background, would not open the page but a random history item instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMMOYn4rbTc (keep private)
- OSX Mavericks: security codes would not auto-progress to next number: https://youtu.be/2ggNx_sM2LQ
