Privacy Policy — StepQuest

What data we collect

StepQuest reads step count, walking distance, and active calories from Apple HealthKit. This data is used solely to display your daily progress within the app.

What we don't collect

  • No personal information (name, email, phone)
  • No location data
  • No usage analytics sent to external servers
  • No advertising identifiers
  • No third-party tracking

Data storage

All data stays on your device. Step history is stored locally using SwiftData. We do not operate any servers or cloud storage.

HealthKit

StepQuest uses Apple HealthKit to read:

  • Step count (HKQuantityTypeIdentifierStepCount)
  • Walking + running distance (HKQuantityTypeIdentifierDistanceWalkingRunning)
  • Active energy burned (HKQuantityTypeIdentifierActiveEnergyBurned)

This data is never shared with third parties.

Widgets

StepQuest widgets display your step progress on your Lock Screen and Home Screen. Widget data is shared between the app and widget extension through a shared App Group container on your device only.

Children's Privacy

StepQuest does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
