Sideline Save privacy policy

Sideline Save Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 13, 2026

Sideline Save is a local-first camera app for recording sports highlights. This policy explains what the app processes on your device, what limited analytics it may send, and the choices available to you.

Camera, microphone, motion, and Photos

  • Camera video and optional microphone audio are processed on your device.
  • Videos you choose to save remain in your Photos library. Sideline Save does not upload your videos, audio, Photos asset identifiers, or saved-video identifiers to the developer.
  • Motion data is used only while capture is active to power the optional level meter. It is not stored or transmitted.
  • Permission states may be included in anonymous usage analytics so the developer can understand where setup fails. The contents of your Photos library are not included.

Analytics

When analytics is enabled in a distributed build, Sideline Save may send:

  • a random identifier created for this installation of the app;
  • app version, platform, build audience, and event timestamps;
  • product interactions such as app opens, capture and Settings actions, option selections, save outcomes, sharing, and deletion counts; and
  • Camera, Microphone, and Photos permission states.

The random installation identifier is not an Apple advertising identifier, IDFV, hardware serial number, account ID, or contact identifier. Apple groups a persistent installation identifier under its Device ID privacy category, so Sideline Save discloses it that way. Analytics is used only to understand feature usage and improve the app. It is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across apps or websites.

Sideline Save does not send your name, email address, precise location, contacts, advertising identifier, hardware device identifier, Photos content, video content, or audio content as analytics. Analytics is sent over HTTPS to a developer-operated endpoint hosted on Amazon Web Services.

Storage, retention, and deletion

App settings, saved-video references, recoverable buffers, and queued analytics are stored in the app's private container on your device. Deleting Sideline Save removes that local app data and causes a future installation to create a new random installation identifier. Videos already saved to Photos remain in Photos until you delete them there.

Uploaded analytics is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and improve Sideline Save. Aggregated statistics that no longer identify an installation may be retained longer. Because Sideline Save has no user accounts and does not collect contact information, the developer may not be able to associate a deletion request with a particular installation. You may still contact the developer with an approximate installation and usage period, and reasonable efforts will be made to locate and delete matching raw records.

Sharing and sale of data

Sideline Save does not sell personal data. It does not share data for cross-app advertising or tracking. Service providers may process the limited analytics described above only to operate the analytics service.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Sideline Save's data practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version.
