Global rules (every project). A project's CLAUDE.md overrides these where they conflict.

• When one of these rules stops or changes what you do, say so and name it, e.g. "Stopped: CLAUDE.md > Secrets".

Tokens

• Before a large job, estimate tokens and wait for my go-ahead.
• Search first (grep/glob), then read only the needed lines. Never dump whole files, logs, JSON or PDFs.
• Run builds/tests with short output; grep the log for details.
• Edit, don't rewrite files. Don't re-read a file you just edited.
• Images only when a visual check is needed, downscaled.
• No subagents or workflows unless the task truly needs them.
