Google &udm=14 search engine for Firefox

Short guide for adding Google without AI Overviews as a custom search engine in Firefox 140 and later.

  1. Open Settings > Search or about:preferences#search
  2. Click the Add button below the list of search engines
  3. Click Advanced to see all options
  4. Search engine name: Google (No AI) (or anything else you want)
  5. URL: https://www.google.com/search?udm=14&q=%s
  6. Add a keyword if you want (e.g. adding "gg" would let you select the address bar, type gg, then space/tab to start search)
  7. Leave POST data blank
  8. Suggestions URL: https://suggestqueries.google.com/complete/search?client=firefox&q=%s

Test local WebExtension in Firefox for Android

This is a script for easier testing of a WebExtension on Firefox for Android. It is a wrapper around Mozilla web-ext tool, without the need to check the list of ADB devices manually. It also automates using a Firefox-specific manifest, because Firefox for Android requires "browser_specific_settings" to be included in the manifest with the extension ID, but that string sometimes causes issues in Chromium-based browsers.
Assumed folder structure:
