UniFi AP Buyers Guide

(updated May 2025)

The APs in this list are ordered from highest to lowest performance. However, unless you have a very high number of devices you likely do NOT need to buy the most expensive, highest performance AP. You can also check Ebay for deals, especially on older equipment.

All APs in this list support both wired backhaul and mesh modes. However, wired connections are strongly recommended for better performance and reliability.

Number of spatial streams are listed in order of 2.4GHz, 5GHz, 6GHz.

Let us imagine the following:

You have a domain example.duckdns.org and you have the domain example.com and want to access your home assistant via home.example.com.

Short Guide

Set CNAME records for your domain: *.home and home pointing to example.duckdns.org
Install or Reinstall the DuckDNS Addon on your home assistant instance.
Set your addon config and leave out your alias for this step

All packages, except for Tini have been added to termux-root. To install them, simply pkg install root-repo && pkg install docker. This will install the whole docker suite, left only Tini to be compiled manually.

Docker with SSL and an nginx reverse proxy

Running your ASP.NET Core (or other) application in Docker using SSL should not be an overwhelming task. These steps should do the trick.

Run the following steps from a Linux terminal (I used WSL or WSL2 on Windows from the Windows Terminal).

1. Create a `conf` file with information about the cert you'll be creating

It should look something like the content below; call it my-site.conf or something like that.
