VT Controls

Camera

• W/A/S/D, Hold Right mouse: Pan up/left/down/right
• Q/E, Scroll: Zoom out/in
• Ctrl+W/A/S/D, Hold Middle mouse: Rotate camera down/clockwise/up/counterclockwise
• Numpad 1-9: Move camera constantly (when option is toggled on, 5 to reset)
• F3: Toggle perspective/isometric mode
• F7: Make terrain invisible forever Removed as of 0.73
• F9: Toggle free cam
  • P: Plane mode (camera rotates relative to current heading instead of ground)
  • Hold Right mouse: Rotate/tilt camera
  • Scroll: Change FOV
  • T: Cycle tilt-shift effects
  • W/A/S/D/Q/E: Move forward/left/back/right/up/down
  • Z/X/C: Tilt left/reset/right
  • Hold Shift/Ctrl: Fast/slow movement speed
  • F10: Cinematic editor
    • Space: Add keyframe
    • Enter: Toggle playback
      • Q/W/E: Slow down/reset/speed up
    • Esc: Exit

Take a ride

• Space: Horn
• X/Z: Change view forward/back
• Hold Right mouse: Rotate camera
• Hold Right mouse+Scroll: Zoom camera
• Esc: Exit

Visualization

• Alt: Toggle extra tooltips (configure with the button in the top left)
• F1: Toggle UI

Tools

• 1-7: Toolbar tools (when tool setting is on, following numbers work in submenu)
• /: Bulldoze
  • Ctrl: Precise mode (delete one piece)
  • Shift: Greedy mode (delete from last junction to next junction)
• R: Rotate
• Hold Shift: Build multiple of selected building

Rails/Roads/Belts

• Hold Shift: Build straight
• B/T: Bridge/tunnel mode
  • N: Cycle bridge type
  • Z/X: Height down/up
• I: Cycle electrification type

Signals

• Z: Change type

Stations

• Z: Change type
• V/B: Make less/more lanes
• X/C: Make shorter/longer

Electrification

• Hold Shift: Precise mode

Terraforming

• Hold Shift: Make square
• X/C: Decrease/Increase TNT power (cheat mode)

Time

• `, Space: Toggle pause
• 1-3: Set speed (when tool setting is off)
• -/=: Decrease/increase speed

UI

• Esc, Delete: Close topmost window
• Shift+Left mouse on settings: View top secret settings
• Shift+Left mouse on resource in vehicle configuration: refit all wagons to carry selected resource.
• Hold Shift: add multiple units to a consist at once.
• Ctrl+H: Toggle performance stats (FPS).

Cheat mode (activated with Ctrl+Alt+C)

• Right mouse on money: Add/remove money
• Right mouse on research: Unlock/lock research
• Right mouse on city demand: Sell resources
• Shift+Left mouse on "fund new buildings": Instantly grow city
