II. Short Answer Responses

Why do you want mentoring in the job search?

Really anything would help, sometimes I need to be pushed a little to get out of my comfort zone and go out there.

How will you hold yourself accountable to balancing time for your job search and following your mentor and group's advice?

Yes of course, I've been already putting many hours into writing cover letters from scratch, apply to multiple jobs on a weekly-basis and building out my own personal portfolio website.

What is the focus of your job search (timeline, ideal job, steps you’ve already taken)? Be as specific as you can.

I am currently looking at openings, writing cover letters and applying to jobs. Some of the things I want are:

  • Industry: Tech/modern/design company would be ideal, however, can't get too picky.
  • Location: (In no order) Denver, Boulder, anywhere in California, San Francisco, Seattle, New York City. (I want to work in a big city)
  • Salary: Depends on city, plus I don't mind being on the low-side for my first dev job.
  • Role: I'm also looking only for Front-End Engineering roles, not Software Developer or Full-Stack. I really enjoy working solely on the front-end, although not exclusively (I'd probably get to touch some of the back-ends during the job), something UI related is also very ideal for me where I can get to maybe design and be more visually creative.
