Running a Nimiq Node on a Digital Ocean droplet

First steps

Create a droplet and pick an operating system (we'll Use Ubuntu as an example)
Select a droplet size (If you are mining expect to get around 1 to 1.5kh/s per cpu core for a standard droplet)
Once the droplet is created, be sure to configure your desired domain name's dns settings to point to the assigned ip address for the droplet. In this example we'll be using nimiq.example.com

Batch converter for Windows using Inkscape with the command line
InkscapeBatchConvert is an easy to use solution to quickly convert all files of a folder to another type without the need to open Inkscape. The program uses Windows Batch scripting and will only work on Windows.
Tested with Inkscape 1.0.x - 1.3.x ✅ (The last version that supports Inkscape 0.9.x can be found here)

Usage

Download _InkscapeBatchConvert.bat
Put it in the folder where you have files you wish to convert (will also scan on all subfolders for files of input type).
Then double click the file to start it.

Create .mintty folder with subfolder themes in c:\Users\< >

 Example:
 C:\Users\sandeep\.mintty\themes

Download '.minttyrc' files from https://github.com/iamthad/base16-mintty and add them to themes folder.

For reading the external Local JSON file (data.json) using java script

git branch --set-upstream-to <remote-branch>
# example
git branch --set-upstream-to origin feature-branch

# show up which remote branch a local branch is tracking
git branch -vv

sets the default remote branch for the current local branch.

Stuff I wish I'd known sooner about service workers

I recently had several days of extremely frustrating experiences with service workers. Here are a few things I've since learned which would have made my life much easier but which isn't particularly obvious from most of the blog posts and videos I've seen.

Use Canary for development instead of Chrome stable

~~Chrome 51 has some pretty wild behaviour related to console.log in service workers. Canary doesn't, and it has a load of really good service worker related stuff in devtools.~~

The Problem

In Javascript this is bound in unexpected ways. Functions, in particular, create a new 'this' and so when you want to keep a reference to an "outer" object you sometimes see the pattern:
