And should
security.debian.orgalso be changed? Like this:security.debian.uchicago.edu?
No. I explicitly wrote non security
So my final testing sources.list should be as follows??
It should/could look like this:
### DEBIAN TESTING ###
deb https://debian.uchicago.edu/debian/ testing contrib main non-free non-free-firmware
# deb-src https://debian.uchicago.edu/debian/ testing contrib main non-free non-free-firmware
deb https://security.debian.org/debian-security/ testing-security contrib main non-free non-free-firmware
# deb-src https://security.debian.org/debian-security/ testing-security contrib main non-free non-free-firmware
Just try it out by running apt update.
Thanks, @technikamateur
I really like this gist and use it as a base for all testing installations.
It would be worth updating it to deb822 (https://manpages.debian.org/unstable/apt/sources.list.5.en.html#DEB822-STYLE_FORMAT).
According to the manpage, the one-line-style format is deprecated and may eventually be removed (not before 2029).
# apt update --audit
already suggests to update to the new format.
# apt modernize-sources
will automatically update to the new format
