Privacy Policy for MINTRA - Focus Timer

Last Updated: February 12, 2026

1. Introduction

MINTRA ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension "MINTRA - Focus Timer" (the "Extension") handles your information.

In short: MINTRA does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data to external servers. All data remains locally on your device.

2. Data Collection and Usage

We prioritize your privacy by design.

  • No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect names, email addresses, or any other personally identifiable information.
  • No Analytics or Tracking: We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or any other third-party tracking services. We do not track your browsing history or usage patterns.
  • Local Storage Only: All data generated by the Extension (such as your timer settings, task history, custom templates, and themes) is stored securely within your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own device. This data never leaves your computer.

3. Permissions

The Extension requires specific permissions to function correctly. Here is why we need them:

  • Storage: To save your preferences, session history, and timer state locally so they persist when you restart your browser.
  • Alarms: To run the timer accurately in the background and ensure notifications fire at the correct time.
  • Notifications: To send you a desktop notification when a focus session or break ends.
  • Host Permissions (<all_urls>): This is required solely to display the floating timer overlay on top of the web pages you visit. We do not read, modify, or collect the content of any websites you visit. The permission is strictly used to inject the visual timer interface.

4. Third-Party Services

MINTRA creates all functionalities without relying on external services.

  • We do not use third-party APIs.
  • We do not display ads.
  • We do not sell data to third parties.

5. Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it.

  • You can clear your data at any time by uninstalling the extension or using the "Reset" features within the extension's settings.
  • If you choose to use the "Export" feature, a JSON file is generated locally for you to download. We do not have access to this file.

6. Children's Privacy

Because MINTRA does not collect any personal information, it is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page.
