This note is a summary of my experience of installing Debian for LoongArch64 on Qemu on a macOS host. This is just a personal experience. There may be other ways.
LoongArch is a recent CPU ISA (Instruction Set Architecture) from 2021. LoongArch was designed by the Chinese company Loongson Technology. It is considered as a common heir of MIPS and RISC-V. LoongArch64 is the 64-bit version of LoongArch. Two 32-bit versions also exist.
Note: Loongson Technology used to design MIPS chips. LoongArch is not a MIPS architecture, it is a new CPU architecture which was designed by Loongson Technology, based on their prior experience with the MIPS architecture.
