If you have confidence in your own connection to the server (little to no packet loss),

can be better as you'll see players peeking ~15 milliseconds sooner. However, as soon as you lose a single packet, players will start to teleport around.cl_interp_ratio 2
gives you some safety here and allows losing a single packet without causing players to visibly teleport around.The server is aware of your
cl_interp_ratio
value and will modify the lag compensation to take it into account when you shoot players. This means that regardless of the value you're using, you won't need to lead shots according to your ping. (This is why you can't changecl_interp_ratio
while connected to a server.)
