Dev.to Group Project - Week 3 Reflection

Liked

- What did the team like about the last week?

  • We were happy with our communication and our flexibility in working between the FE and BE to accomodate each other's technincal needs
  • We stayed on top of switching between driver/navigator and divide/conquer
  • Worked on creating smaller PR's to keep issues easy to track and stay on top of what everyone is working on
  • Acccomplished what we set out to do (MVP) and managed time well
  • Adjusted our standards and expectations fluidly and expressed that in our project board

Learned

- What did the team learn during the last week? NOTE: This should be non-technical.

  • Continued to understand the value of consistent and clear communication
  • Improved our ability to work remotely and handle the challenges that come with that
  • Began to understand and utilize rebasing (still learning!)

Lacked

- What did the team lack over the last week?

  • Sleep!
  • Time to get features done
  • Struggled to utilize a TDD approach due to time constraints and planning
  • Due to constraints of the project, this week felt a little overwhelming and did not inspire a lot of confidence, even though we accomplished a lot!

Longed For

- What did the team long for/want during the last week?

  • More time :)
  • Would have liked to have more quickly figured out our plan for feature implementation earlier on
  • Better understanding of how data is moved throughout this application
