Search and install Gist (kenhowardpdx.vscode-gist) extension from Marketplace.

From your Github profile, go to Settings and Develpoper Setttings

Generate a new Personal access token

Select a useful namee (e.g. GistTokenForVSCode) and select gist scope.

Copy Personal token

In VSCode, go to command pallete (Shift + Control + P) - search GIST: Create Profile, choose Github.com (common) and add your personal token
