The Blink will start up when the charging cable is plugged in or the power button is held down for 2 seconds.
About 40 seconds from pusing this button, the orange and green lights will turn on and stay on for 5 seconds. Then they will turn off, if the device is not plugged into a meter, you will see the orange light start blinking.
If it is plugged into a meter, then the orange light will come on steady until the data is read. At this point the green light will turn on. These lights will stay on until you unplug the usb.
The blink has two different shut down modes, hard shutdown and soft shutdown. Soft shutdown is preferable.
To initiate a soft shutdown, hold the blink button down for more than 3 seconds but less than 10 seconds. After about 5 to 10 seconds, the Blink will turn off.
In some cases it may be necessary to initiate a hard shutdown. To do this, hold the blink button down for 10 seconds.
Doing this should be minimized, as it may result in corrupted data.
To charge the blink, plug in the USB micro cord.
It should take about 2 hours to get to fully charged on a 2A usb charger.
The charge should last 4-6 hours depending on use.
