2012-Present Freelance Web Developer – Electric Putty, Hove
- Electric Putty is a small web design agency working primarily with the third sector
- I currently work on several sites in PHP, using the CodeIgniter framework and Expression Engine CMS
2010-2012 Web Developer – 10:10, London
- 10:10 is an environmental campaign that encourages personal action on climate change through a number of carbon-cutting projects
- Worked primarily in Python (using Django and Google App Engine) but also PHP (using Drupal and WordPress) to develop and maintain innovative project websites including those of Solar Schools and Lighter Later
- Worked closely with the campaigns team to recommend and deliver appropriate solutions to campaign challenges
- Worked for the Otesha Project to port their website from Webbler to WordPress
- Created several custom Joomla! modules for Student Switch Off, as well as helping develop their current site in WordPress
2008-2010 Freelance Software Engineer – University of the West of England, Bristol
- Created an “Ant Tracker” tool in C++, used to assist researchers working in the field of social insects
- Worked independently to a specification from the client
- In 2006 I volunteered to create the original Java version of this software
