Migrate Sidekiq Redis

Under the hood of event listeners in React

Recently, during the migration to React 17, I had a problem between event listeners handled by React and one added document manually. It was due to this part on the React 17 release note.

At this moment I understood that I had a misconception of how React handles event listener. So I decided to explore the React code to understand how it works.

The misconception

Before going deep in the React codebase, I would like to explain what was in my head about the management of event listeners.

For example when I write this simple code:

Installing Linux on Lenovo ThinkPad A485

Why

I was unable to boot to live Linux distro to install Linux on my newly bought A485 ThinkPad laptop. Although I was initially dissapointed, I was not alone. This gist documents the information I gathered from the net to complete the installation.

At the time of posting this gist, the issue is still persistent. It might not be relevant anymore once Lenovo release a working BIOS update to resolve the issue. [Update 19/01/2019]: Updating to BIOS 1.14 worked for me.

Sources

The information in this short gist was compiled from several sources. Although most are for E series, it worked for A485:

Thinking Sphinx Configuration
# Extended configuration for Thinking Sphinx can be stored in the
# config/thinking_sphinx.yml file within your application (this file was
# previously known as config/sphinx.yml in TS v1/v2).
#
# Many settings from Sphinx itself can be set here, and they'll flow through to
# the appropriate section of the generated configuration. However, some are
# used for Thinking Sphinx behaviour, and so those are documented here first.
#
# Configuration is grouped by environment, just like config/database.yml in a
# standard Rails application.

Embedding GoLang into a Ruby application - Blogpost to Magrathealabs

Go Title

I am passionate about Ruby, but its execution time compared to other languages is extremely high, especially when we want to use more complex algorithms. In general, data structures in interpreted languages become incredibly slow compared to compiled languages. Some algorithms such as ´n-body´ and ´fannkuch-redux´ can be up to 30 times slower in Ruby than Go. This is one of the reasons I was interested in embedding Go code in a Ruby environment.

For those who do not know how shared libraries operate, they work in a similar way as DLLs in Windows. However, they have a native code with a direct interface to the C compiler.

Note Windows uses the DLL system, and in this case, this does not necessarily have to be in native code.

One example is DLLs written in C#, which runs on a virtual machine. Because I do not use windows, I ended up not testing if it is poss
