Thank you for contributing to omgbase. This agreement protects both you and the project: it lets the project use your contributions — including under future licenses — while you keep ownership of your work. The CLA Assistant bot will prompt you to accept this when you open your first pull request.
- "You" means the individual contributor accepting this agreement.
- "Project" means omgbase, maintained by Brendan Baldwin ("Maintainer").
- "Contribution" means any original work of authorship — code, documentation, or other material — that You submit to the Project for inclusion in its repositories. "Submit" means any electronic, verbal, or written communication sent to the Maintainer (pull requests, issues, email, chat), except communication You conspicuously mark in writing as not a contribution.
You grant the Maintainer and all recipients of the Project a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute Your Contributions and derivative works thereof, in source or object form, under any license terms the Maintainer chooses, including the right to relicense the Project or any part of it.
You retain ownership of Your Contributions. This is a license, not a transfer of copyright.
You grant the Maintainer and all recipients of the Project a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable patent license to make, use, sell, offer to sell, import, and otherwise transfer the Project, where such license applies only to patent claims licensable by You that would necessarily be infringed by Your Contribution alone, or by combination of Your Contribution with the Project as it existed at the time of submission. If You institute patent litigation against any party alleging that the Project infringes Your patents, this patent license terminates as of the date such litigation is filed.
You represent that:
- (a) You are legally entitled to grant the licenses above;
- (b) each Contribution You submit is Your original creation, or You otherwise have the right to submit it (see §6 for employer contributions);
- (c) to Your knowledge, no Contribution infringes any third party's rights.
The Maintainer is under no obligation to include any Contribution or to justify a decision not to include it.
If You contribute as part of Your employment, or on behalf of an employer or other entity, You represent that You are authorized to make the grants in §§2–3 on that entity's behalf, or that the entity has waived any rights that would prevent You from doing so.
Contributions are provided "as is", without warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied.
