## Tech sis open source sessions

Session 1:

Esentials:

  • Setup a github account
  • Setup git on your machine
  • Familiarizing with forking, cloning, committing etc : resources

Next Steps:

  • With the sample project we created fork it and install it in your machine.
  • There are three files in the project: readme.md, index.html and main.js -- make some edits to the files could be anything ---we are braintorming on a TechSis Website so maybe jot things downs you would like to see or write some code
  • Make a PR on the website. If you see other PRS from other folks, feel free to review and leave some comments(rem to be kind and respectful)
  • Have ideas for the TechSis website? create a new issue and write the idea there https://github.com/Tech-Sisters-Kenya/tutorial-opensource/issues/new
  • I will keep two issues running for these 2 weeks where we can have a Q & A and technical support. Anyone is free to answer/ ask anything -- lets keep it iteractive and learn from each other. The issues are:
  1. One for everything general open source
  2. Another for help/support in installing and setting up the project/forking etc
