Abra o terminal e instale o tinytex

wget -qO- "https://yihui.org/tinytex/install-bin-unix.sh" | sh

Ele será instalado em /home/$USER/.TinyTeX/ e terá symlinks em /home/$USER/.local/bin/

Agora feche o terminal e reabra, para recarregar o path, e rode os comandos abaixo para configurar o tinytex

# update
tlmgr update --self

# Pacotes recomendados
tlmgr install collection-latexrecommended

# suporte para portugues
tlmgr install collection-langportuguese

# mais de 2000 pacotes, cuidado!
tlmgr install collection-latexextra

Abra o emacs, se ele tiver acesso ao seu path de usuário, abra um arquivo .tex e rode C-c C-c e escolha pdflatex (primeira opção)
