Removing a Bead of Silicone Caulk from a Urathane Countertop

Clean up Sticky/Uncured Silicone

Wipe up as much as you can with a disposable paper towel or toilet paper.

Isopropol alchohol should do it, or acetone or goo-gone, will get the last bit of sticky silicone off the surface.

Clean up Cured/Hardened Silicone

TLDR: LEGO scraping, and Goo-Gone

Scrape as much as you can with a sharp plastic object. Like a LEGO!

You should get it down to flat/flush with the surface as much as possible. Scrape along the surface, not into the surface.

Now you can scrape with your fingernail.

If it is fully cured silicone, rubbing alcohol will do nothing. But goo-gone and other citris based goo removers should work.

Work this into the remaining thin layer of silicone and then scrape again. It should come off now, but leave a little bit of goo-gone residue.

Clean up goo-gone with some soapy water.

All done!
